Thema des Werkes "Grenzfährservice" ist
die Figur des Schleusers, die durch verschiedene Jahrzehnte und
politische Situationen immer wieder Türen öffnet, Wege bereitet und
Netzwerke strikt. Grenzfährservice ist eine Serie von Arbeiten, die das
Thema durch unterschiedliche künstlerische Formate erkundet, mal als
performative Stadtwanderung, mal Schattentheater, mal begehbare
Installation. Wie auch die wechselnden Formate, wächst und verändert sich "Grenzfährservice" inhaltlich mit jedem neuen Produktions- und Aufführungsort.
Für den 2. Berlin Herbstsalon des Maxim Gorki Theaters übersetzten wir unsere umfangreiche Recherchen, u.a. entlang der
griechisch-türkischen Grenze in 2014 und in Berliner Archiven in die
Stadtwanderung "Grenzfährservice III". Wir waren die Geschichtenübermittler und lasen Berichte und Erzählungen von Schleusern vor. Die Stadtkulisse diente hierbei als historischer Anknüpfungspunkt und Szenario für die Schleusergeschichten aus dem damaligen Westberlin und der heutigen EU Grenze zur Türkei.

Central theme of the body of work "Border Ferry Service" is the character of the human smuggler, who continuously acts as door opener throughout centuries and political situations. He facilitates pathways and creates networks.
"Border Ferry Service" is a series of works that explores this thematic through different artistic formats: as performative walk, as shadow play or walkable installation. "Border Ferry Service" grows and transforms in every new production location with regard to contents congruent to its changing artistic formats.
For the 2nd Berliner Herbstsalon of the Maxim Gorki Theatre we translated our extensive research materials from the Greek- Turkish border in 2014 and in Berliner archive in 2015 into performative walk "Border Ferry Service III".
We acted as transmitters of oral history and read aloud accounts and stories of human smugglers. The urban backdrop functioned as a loos historic link and scenery for human smuggler stories from former West Berlin and stories from the current EU outer border between Greece and Turkey.
